Volvo TP-21 Command Car “Sugga”
Volvo TP21 Command Car was produced between 1953 and 1958, and one of just 724 made. Designed to carry five crew and radio equipment from which the tanks of the Swedish Army could be directed. The vehicle remained in service for over 30 years.
Nicknamed ‘Sugga’ (sow or pig) by the troops the vehicle comprises of a shortened truck chassis, a modified pre-war Volvo taxi body and a 3.7-litre straight-six petrol engine with a high and low ratio four-speed gearbox to give eight forward speeds. Features a part-time four-wheel drive system with pneumatic differential-locks for both axles and huge ground clearance.
